《西游记》中唐僧师徒西天取经途中“三打白骨精”的故事大家耳熟能详。昆剧《三打白骨精》是上海昆剧团保留剧目之一。为了符合孩子们的欣赏习惯，剧团对传统的台词进行了适当改编，场面上还设计了一些特技。整体剧情节奏明快，文武结合，成为引人入胜的通俗武打戏。

Everybody knows the story of “Beating the Monster" from A Journey to the West which depicts Master Tang and his apprentice on a pilgrimage to get Buddhist scriptures from the Western Paradise. The Kun opera Beating the Monster lives on in the repertoires of the Shanghai Kungu Opera Troupe. The conventional lines have been adapted to suit children's capacity for understanding. The overall play, in a lively rhythm combined with martial arts performances,will surely catch the audiences' eves with its enthralling actions
